Connecting Your VoIP System to the Rest of Your Business
A VoIP telephone system that sits apart from the rest of your business infrastructure creates its own inefficiencies, separate management, separate contacts for problems, and a phone system that doesn't work alongside the tools your team uses every day. We manage VoIP integration so your telephone system works as part of your IT environment, not alongside it.

Lowthers VoIP Integration Support
A telephone system that isn't integrated with how your business works creates friction every day. We connect your VoIP infrastructure to the rest of your IT environment so everything works together.
Â
What Our VoIP Integration Support Covers
We manage the connections between your VoIP telephone system and the wider IT infrastructure your business depends on, ensuring your phone system works alongside your tools, your network, and your working patterns.
Â
Multi-Site Network Configuration
For businesses with multiple offices or locations, we configure the network and VoIP infrastructure so all sites operate on the same telephone system with consistent call routing across locations.
Network & Firewall Configuration
VoIP call quality depends on network configuration. We ensure your network infrastructure prioritises call traffic correctly and your firewall permits VoIP data without introducing security gaps.
Â
Existing Infrastructure Integration
We connect your VoIP system to your existing IT setup, whether that's network hardware, a Microsoft 365 environment, or business systems that need to work alongside your telephone infrastructure.
How VoIP Integration Works
Connecting VoIP to your IT infrastructure and business systems
VoIP integration covers two related areas: the technical connection between your telephone system and your IT infrastructure, and the configuration of your network and security environment to support VoIP traffic reliably. Both need to be done correctly for a VoIP system to perform well, and problems in either area manifest as the same symptoms: dropped calls, poor audio quality, and connectivity issues that are difficult to diagnose without visibility of both the telephony and the network side.
We manage VoIP integration as part of the wider IT infrastructure arrangement for businesses, which means we already have visibility of the network, the firewall, and the Microsoft environment that your VoIP system needs to integrate with. That makes integration straightforward and avoids the coordination delays that come from working with separate providers for telephony and IT.
Â
For businesses using Microsoft Teams, VoIP integration through Microsoft Teams Direct Routing or Operator Connect allows your team to make and receive business calls directly within Teams, on desktop, laptop, and mobile, using your existing business numbers. This removes the need for separate desk phones for staff who work primarily at a computer, and keeps all business communication within the Microsoft environment your team already uses.
For businesses with multiple sites, VoIP integration covers the configuration of call routing between locations, shared extensions across sites, and the network infrastructure that connects them, ensuring staff in different offices are on the same telephone system with consistent behaviour, regardless of which location they're working from.

Words from our clients
Why VoIP and IT infrastructure need to be managed together
The most common VoIP performance issues, dropped calls, poor audio, and connectivity failures, are rarely telephone system problems. They're network problems: insufficient bandwidth, missing quality of service configuration, firewall rules that interfere with call traffic, or network changes that were made without considering their effect on VoIP. When the same team manages both the telephone system and the network it runs on, these issues are identified and resolved faster, and in many cases prevented entirely by getting the configuration right from the start.
Â
Why businesses choose Lowthers for VoIP integration support
We manage VoIP integration as part of the wider IT infrastructure we look after for businesses, not as a separate telephony service with a different support contact. That means the team managing your VoIP integration already knows your network, your Microsoft environment, your firewall configuration, and your multi-site setup. Integration is handled once, correctly, and maintained as your infrastructure evolves, without coordination overhead between separate providers.

Our Integration Approach
How we connect your VoIP system to your business infrastructure
We start by mapping what needs to connect your VoIP system, your network infrastructure, your Microsoft 365 environment, and any business locations or working patterns that affect how calls need to be routed. For businesses with multiple sites, that includes understanding call routing requirements between locations and what a consistent telephone experience across sites should look like.
From that mapping, we configure the integration, network and firewall settings, Teams Direct Routing or Operator Connect where applicable, multi-site call routing, and any other connections required to make the telephone system work alongside your existing infrastructure. We test the integration thoroughly before signing off, including calls across all configured routes and from all locations.
Ongoing management covers the maintenance of those integrations as your business changes. New sites, new Microsoft 365 configurations, network changes, or new working patterns, we update the VoIP integration to reflect those changes, so your telephone system continues to work correctly as your business evolves. Our support desk operates 08:00–17:00, Monday to Friday.

Supporting Businesses with reliable & Flexible IT Support
We map the connections needed between your VoIP system and your IT infrastructure before configuring anything, ensuring integration is planned around your actual setup, not a generic template.
For businesses using Microsoft Teams, we configure VoIP to work natively within Teams, enabling business calls on desktop and mobile without separate desk phones or a separate telephony interface.
We configure call routing across multiple business locations, shared extensions, site-to-site routing, and consistent telephone behaviour, so all your sites operate as one telephone system.
